May 27 was a busy day. After visiting the East Side Gallery in the early morning, we met with representatives of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in their main headquarters, the Willy-Brandt-Haus. After receiving a tour of the building and learning about some of the art work on display there, we met for almost an hour and a half for a lively discussion with Markus Engels, Deputy Director of Department for International Relations.
