I am an Associate Professor of Political Science at SFASU. I have been at SFASU for almost six years and have taught previously at public universities in Georgia and Missouri. My teaching interests include European politics, the European Union, and the Middle East.
I have co-authored several research papers on German elections and party competition. However, my love of German politics goes back to my undergraduate days when I first learned about Germany's political system and watched on television the events of German reunification in 1989-1991. On my first trip to Germany in 2009, I enjoyed seeing so much of Germany's recent political history come alive as I traveled around Berlin. Also, my grandfather's family on my mother's side came from German and regions of France near the German border, so my interest in Germany also has a personal connection.
My interest in the EU developed during my graduate school days at the University of Missouri. What caught my attention especially was the EU's economic integration as a method to prevent war between European countries.
