27 May, Stasi prison Hohenschönhausen

The third, and final, official activity for May 27 was a visit to the East German secret police (Staatssicherheit, "Stasi") prison, Hohenschönhausen. Our guide for the visit was Vera Lengsfeld, a brave woman who told of her imprisonment, interrogation, and maltreatment by the Stasi.
